Navigation data

The computer systems and software procedures instrumental in the operation of this Website acquire, in the course of their normal operation, some personal data whose transmission is implicit in the use of Internet communication protocols. This information is not collected to be associated with identified stakeholders, but, by its very nature, could, through elaborations and associations with data held by third parties, be used to identify the Users.

This Data category includes the IP addresses or domain names of the computers used by Users who connect to the Website, the addresses in notation URI (Uniform Resource Identifier) the time of the request, the method used to submit the request to the server, the size of the file obtained in response, the numeric code indicating the status of the response given by the server (good end, error, etc.) and other parameters relative to the operating system and the computer environment.

This Data is used for the sole purpose of obtaining anonymous statistical information about the use of the Website and to check its proper functioning and is deleted immediately after processing. The Data could be used to ascertain liability in case of a hypothetical cybercrime against the Website: and with that outcome, the data on web contacts does not persist for more than seven days.

  1. Cookies

Cookies are small text files that the websites visited by the User send and record on your computer or mobile device, and then are transmitted back to the same websites the next time you visit. Thanks to cookies, the website remembers the user's actions and preferences (such as login data, chosen language, font size, other display settings, etc.) so that they do not have to be re-indicated when you return to visit that website or browse from one page to another. Cookies are then used to perform computer authentications, monitoring sessions and storing information about the activities of users accessing a website, and may also contain a unique identification code that allows you to keep track of the user's browsing within the site itself for statistical or advertising purposes. When browsing a website, the user can also receive cookies from websites or web servers on his computer or mobile device other than the one he is visiting (c.d. "third party" cookies). Some operations could not be done without the use of cookies, which in some cases are, therefore, technically necessary for operation of the website.

There are various types of cookies, depending on their characteristics and functions, and these can remain in the user's computer or mobile device for different periods of time: c.d. session cookies, which are automatically deleted when the browser closes; c.d. persistent cookies, which remain on the user's equipment for a set amount of time.

An express consent of the user is not always required for the use of cookies. In particular consent is not required to use "technical cookies", i.e., those used only to transmit a communication over an electronic communication network, or to the extent strictly necessary to provide a service explicitly requested by the user. In other words, they are cookies that are essential for the operation of the website or necessary to perform tasks requested by the user.

Among the technical cookies, which do not require an express consent for their use, the following cookies are also included:

  • "cookie analytics" where used directly by the site manager to collect information, in aggregate, about the number of users and how they visit the site itself - with user IPs anonymized, so it is not possible to associate specific behaviour with a particular user-;
  • navigation or session cookies (to authenticate);
  • feature cookies, which allow the user to navigate according to a set of selected criteria (for example, language, products selected for purchase) in order to improve the service rendered at the same time.

For "profiling cookies", i.e., those aimed at creating user-related profiles used in order to send advertisements in line with the preferences expressed by the user in the context of web browsing, the user’s prior consent is required.

To separately make choices for mobile apps on a mobile device, you can download DAA's AppChoices application from your device's app store.

Please note that Do Not Track (“DNT”) options are also available. DNT is a concept promoted by certain regulatory authorities and industry groups for development and implementation of a mechanism that would allow internet users to control the tracking of their online activities across websites. Currently, various browsers (including Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Safari) offer a DNT option that allows a user to set a preference in the browser to not have his/her activities on the internet tracked. You can usually access your browser's DNT option in your browser's preferences. When a user’s browser is set to DNT, some cookies and other tracking technologies may become inactive, depending on how the website visited responds to DNT browser settings. If that occurs, the website visited will not recognize you upon return to that website, save passwords or usernames, and some other features of a website may become unavailable or not function properly.
